entrepreneurship, innovation, sustainability and leadership
Across Cameroon and many parts of Africa, youth unemployment and underemployment continue to rise despite the growing number of graduates and talented young people entering the labor market each year. Many young people possess innovative ideas and entrepreneurial potential but face major challenges such as limited access to practical business training, mentorship, startup support, funding opportunities, and market exposure. At the same time, environmental challenges including climate change, poor waste management, unsustainable agricultural practices, and environmental degradation are affecting livelihoods, food security, and economic growth.
There is an urgent need to empower young people with the knowledge, skills, and mindset required to create sustainable businesses that not only generate income but also contribute positively to environmental protection and community development. Green entrepreneurship has emerged as a powerful approach to addressing both economic and environmental challenges by encouraging innovative, climate-smart, and sustainable business solutions.
The Green Entrepreneur Bootcamp (GEB) was developed in response to these growing challenges and opportunities. The program seeks to equip young entrepreneurs, students, innovators, and aspiring business leaders with practical entrepreneurial knowledge, leadership skills, and exposure to green business opportunities. Through intensive training, mentorship, networking, and innovation support, participants will learn how to identify community problems, develop sustainable business solutions, and transform ideas into viable enterprises.
The Bootcamp also recognizes the importance of creating platforms where young entrepreneurs can showcase their innovations, connect with potential customers, investors, and partners, and gain visibility for their businesses. This is why the Green Entrepreneur Fair (GEF) forms an important part of the program, providing participants with opportunities for exhibition, networking, pitching, and market engagement.
By promoting innovation, sustainability, leadership, and entrepreneurship, the Green Entrepreneur Bootcamp aims to contribute to youth economic empowerment, job creation, environmental sustainability, and community transformation in Cameroon and beyond.
